COVID-19 UPDATE

On account of COVID-19, classes at Intersection Estate Winery have been suspended. Follow the Vinstitute on Facebook to learn more about classes reopening, or listen to our new podcast of live video series to get a fix of wine education from home.

UNCORK THE SUN PODCAST

In collaboration with Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, in April 2020 the Vinstitute started producing a regular half-hour wine education podcast covering a variety of topics in viticulture, oenology (winemaking), and wine appreciation, as well as featuring interviews with winemakers from the South Okanagan.

Look for Uncork the Sun with the Vinstitute Wine School on Spotify, Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, or your favourite podcast app.

VIRTUAL VINSTITUTE LIVESTREAMS

For much of 2020, Moss was hosting a “Virtual Vinstitute” class live on the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country Facebook page. The first season is now complete, but you can catch all the episodes at Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country on Facebook or at the Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country YouTube channel.

Learn about wine in a comfortable, funny, and entertaining setting with no pretense and no pressure.

The Vinstitute Wine School runs weekend classes year-round, offering wine tasting seminars to help hone your senses and improve knowledge and awareness of BC wines.

The school is non-biased, bringing wines in from dozens of wineries from throughout the Okanagan and beyond, and the typical session includes a tasting of 6 wines from different wineries in blind format to better test your nose and palate.

No prior wine knowledge is required to participate, and students are welcome to attend one class or attend them all.

ABOUT

In the spring of 2016, Intersection became home to the new Vinstitute Wine School, a non-proprietary educational outreach dedicated to increasing awareness and appreciation of BC wines as a whole, the first of its kind in the Okanagan.

A former teacher, instructor Moss Scheurkogel strives to educate his students in the intricacies that make wine so special while keeping his classes fun and accessible for all levels of knowledge.
